Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was questionable with an illness going into Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. The reason he was ill? Chewing tabacco.

Peterson was apparently dipping on the team flight to Detroit, and during the ride they hit some bumps. Peterson reportedly could not handle the uneven trip, and swallowed the dip, according to FOX Sports. Peterson was then vomiting once the team plane landed, which is why he was listed as questionable.

This is the kind of thing that has to drive a fan insane. Peterson is the most important player on a team that is trying to make the playoffs for the first time since the Joe Webb era, and without their All-Pro running back, the Vikings would be in a bad way. Luckily for Minnesota, Peterson was made active for the game versus Detroit.

One has to wonder where Peterson’s head is? First of all, dip is not going to help your health in any way, shape or form. Second, why would you purposely risk hurting your body when you rely on it to make your money?

Peterson has to think before he acts, something he has struggled with in multiple arenas of his life. Maybe, at the age of 30, it is time to grow up.
