Houston Texans vs. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are playing much better under their new head coach Dan Campbell, and suddenly have a renewed sense of spirit as they try to get their season back on track in 2015. The Houston Texans meanwhile, are coming off a much needed win at Jacksonville, and are trying to sustain some momentum. In a way, for both teams this Sunday presents an opportunity for both to get on track going forward. For the loser, it likely makes the road ahead even longer for them.

Keys to Victory

The big key for the Dolphins winning on Sunday, is to limit the turnovers. Ryan Tannehill has struggled with throwing interceptions the last few games and must do a better job of protecting the football. One of the ways to do that is to find a receiver he trusts.

That receiver could be Jarvis Landry, who continues to establish himself as one of the better wide receivers in the league. Last week, Landry made big plays that helped spark the Dolphins offense, and if he can do the same against the Texans defense, the Dolphins should be well served at home.

Another key for Miami is to feed Lamar Miller the football on the ground. To win this game, they’ll also have to push the ball on the ground to open up plays for Tannehill. After a 100-yard plus performance last week, Miller is a safe bet for the Dolphins to make things happen on offense.

Equally, for the Texans to have a chance to pick up another road win, they’re going to have to stop Miller and the big defensive line up front is going to have to impose their will on the Dolphins offensive line. Miami has weapons that can burn them, and the Texans are going to have generate pressure to have a chance.

Offensively, Houston is going to need to get good play from Brian Hoyer, as that has been the story all season for them. Much like Miami, if Hoyer can get help from the ground game, then he will be able to find his big play-maker through the air in DeAndre Hopkins.

Prediction

This is one of the hardest games to predict as both teams have struggled to find any consistency. Still, Miami looks like they have better energy under their new head coach and will be energized to pick up a win at home for him in front of their fans. Tannehill will be much better and cut down on the interceptions, while Miller will impose his will on the ground.

Final Score: Houston Texans 17, Miami Dolphins 20
