Rest assured, Fred Hoiberg and the rest of the Bulls medical staff will be watching Derrick Rose like a hawk.

It looks like Derrick Rose will be given the green light on Tuesday when the Bulls face off against the Clevland Caviliers but expect head coach Fred Hoiberg to be watching carefully. According to USA Today NBA Reporter Jeff Zillgitt on his tweet earlier  (Oct. 26, 2015) there won’t be any restrictions on Rose, but his time on the court will definitely be monitored closely as the game progresses. Keep in mind that the Bulls will be playing three games in the next coming four days, a pace Rose may not be up to given his injury.

If Friday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks (103-102) is any indication how well Rose has come, his performance bodes well for a solid season opener. In just ten minutes of gameplay, Rose hit eight points with four of his six shots making the basket. According to reports, an assist by Rose “pushed the Bulls offense into a higher gear.”

But as far as Hoiberg is concerned, he’s seen Rose rise to the challenge multiple times during practice and on the court, so barring any other setbacks, Rose should be good to go tomorrow.

Back in September, Rose suffered an elbow to his face that saw Rose diagnosed with an left orbital fracture that required surgery. Since then, although Rose has admitted to bouts of double vision, he’s improved by leaps and bounds and has stayed physically fit.

Derrick Rose is key to Fred Hoiberg’s fast paced offense. Rose is well aware of this and will look to set a strong precedent for the Bulls when he sets foot on court. While everything is touch and go, we’ll just wave to wait and see to how he officially reacts when LeBron James brings the heat.
