Canelo Alvarez on potential fight with GGG: ‘I am not afraid of any fighter’

Some might think that Canelo Alvarez is afraid to fight Gennady Golovkin, but he’s here to tell you differently
Later this month, Canelo Alvarez will take on WBC Middleweight Champion Miguel Cotto in one of the most anticipated fights of the year. However, for as great as that fight probably will be, people are more looking forward to what happens after that fight is over. More specifically, they’re waiting to see whether or not the winner of that bout will make the necessary move to take on the undefeated, power-punching Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, who happens to be the holder of the WBA/IBO/IBF titles.
Of course, as we found out recently, there might be a bit of a snag in making that fight happen, especially if Alvarez comes out on top. He stated that he’d rather not move up to the Middleweight limit of 160-pounds, rather he’d be more than happy to meet Golovkin at the catch weight of 155.
This being the case, folks are wondering whether or not Alvarez is scared to get in the ring with GGG. Well, he’s here to set the record straight in that regard.
“I am not afraid of any fighter, but right now I am focused on Cotto. Once this fight is over we can move on to the next big fight,” Canelo stated via BoxingScene.com.
It’s a requirement that the winner of Alvarez vs. Cotto, via the WBC, has to set up a fight with Golovkin or they will be stripped of the title that they worked so hard for on November 21.
One thing we can clearly see is that the drama might be there on the 21st of this month, but there’s a lot more to come after that.
