Projections for the College Football Playoff heading into Week 10 of the season

It’s a little hard, and sad, to believe that we’re entering Week 10 of the college football season next weekend. However, there is still much more excitement on the way here in 2015, and this week that excitement includes the initial release of the College Football Playoff rankings for this year.

The College Football Playoff made its debut last season, and by all accounts, it worked the way a lot of people had expected for years. The Ohio State Buckeyes were the final team allowed in when the final standings were released in December, and when all was said and done, they were the ones that were holding up the trophy that you see above. Under any old system, the Buckeyes probably would not have been national champions, yet under the playoff format, they earned that distinction.

Here in year two of the College Football Playoff, there really is no telling what can happen. This has been one of the wildest seasons that we have seen in quite some time, as no one team has really separated itself from the rest of the pack. It pretty much goes without saying that this makes the decision of the College Football Playoff committee that much more difficult, especially with the initial standings here in 2015.

The initial rankings for this season will be released this Tuesday night, let’s have a look at what the committee may come up with, and we’ll begin with the one team that may be a little upset when they see where they’ve placed among the 12 people.
