ESPN College GameDay signs: Best of Week 9 Notre Dame vs Temple
Running down the best signs from College GameDay Week 9 at Temple.
There were a bevy of choices for Saturday’s Week 9 edition of College GameDay: the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party between Florida and Georgia, a rousing trip to undefeated Iowa, or even a first-ever visit to Pullman to showcase show favorite Washington State as it hosts Stanford. In the end, though, the traveling cavalcade decided to roll up to Philadelphia for the first trip to Temple’s campus. And really, the Temple-Notre Dame tilt was the right choice – when else will the show ever have a chance to visit Temple?
The Owls are one of a handful of undefeated teams at this point in the season. And though unscathed, they enter this home contest the underdog and lower-ranked. Temple is, well, not the prettiest on offense (ranking No. 110 in yards per game). However, the Owls are a veritable clamp on defense. They allow only 14.6 points per game (No. 8 nationally), and give up a shade over 300 yards per contest (No. 14 nationally, lodged between Ohio State and Georgia).
As for Notre Dame, the Fighting Irish were beset by injuries early in the season, but have really steadied the ship. Their only blemish is a closely fought contest against Clemson in Death Valley – one where a few curious coaching decisions by Brian Kelly cost the team.
With such a banner matchup on the front page, taking place on Halloween no less, the sign game was fierce for College GameDay. Here’s the best of the best.
