FanDuel fantasy football picks: week 8

High Value Wide Receivers

Brandin Cooks (6,800): Cooks hasn’t lived up to his preseason hype, but he leads the Saints in targets and catches and he has at least 80 yards in two of his last three games. I expect him and the Saints to get into a shootout in the Superdome with Eli and the Giants and Cooks to find some room to operate against the Giants who have faced Sam Bradford, Colin Kaepernick, and Matt Cassel the last three weeks and still haven’t shut them down. I’m not sold on the Giants’ secondary, and I think Cooks has sneaky upside at this price.

Stefon Diggs (6,700): Diggs has been in my Fanduel fantasy football picks every week since he joined the Vikings starting lineup and he continues to emerge as a great play.  In each of the three games Diggs has been active, he has at least six catches and at least 85 yards.  He caught his first touchdown last week against the Lions piling up 108 yards on his six catches.  He and Teddy Bridgewater take on the Bears’ struggling secondary this week, and Diggs should be able to continue his emergence as the Vikes go-to receiver.

Marvin Jones (5,400): While A.J. Green has been relatively quiet this season outside of a monster game against the Ravens, Jones has been a steady and solid second receiver for Andy Dalton.  Jones has reemerged as a red zone threat and quickly earned back his spot in the Cincy attack after missing last year with a foot injury.

Nate Washington (5,400): Washington makes a return to my FAnDuel fantasy football picks after a monster week last week catching a pair of scores as part of a nine-catch 127-yard week as the Texans played from behind against Miami.  Washington is a good play again this week since he’ll stay involved while Cecil Shorts is sidelined.  Brian Hoyer has connected with Washington very well in the two games when both have started, so Washington will be a solid cheap play for as long as Shorts is out.

Michael Floyd (4,900): Floyd could be in line for more work on Sunday if John Brown is out as expected.  He has touchdown catches in each of the Cardinals last two games and at least 50 yards in three of their last four games.  If Brown is out, his usage will spike this week and he’ll be a good cheap play.
