Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette underwent successful neck surgery on Monday

While there was a lot that took place in the NFL on Sunday, unquestionably the biggest news of the day was the injury that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette suffered. One kick coverage, he was hit so hard that he was knocked unconscious right there in the middle of the field in Dallas and things did not look good.

He would eventually regain consciousness and it was reported that he suffered a concussion. However, on Monday we learned that he in fact did sustain some neck damage and would need to undergo surgery immediately. The damage was pretty serious, so everyone was hoping that everything turned out well.

Well, the good news is that, per the Seahawks, everything is going well so far for the Seattle wide receiver.

This is absolutely tremendous news to hear, especially considering the severity of the injury. Sure, all injuries are bad, but whenever there is anything involving the neck, things tend to become just a little more serious.

There is still a long road ahead to recovery for Lockette, but he got off to a good start on Monday with this surgery being a success.
