After missing the week 9 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals, Josh McCown is expected to start in week 10 in Pittsburgh.

After suffering a rib injury in the Week 8 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Josh McCown is expected to return in week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The injury was caused by a tackle from Kevin Minter and caused the Browns’ veteran signal caller to miss Thursday night’s demolition at the hands of the undefeated Bengals.

The Cleveland Browns have been shrouded in doubt throughout the season due to the battle between their quarterbacks. McCown has started the majority of the season, but second-year player Johnny Manziel faced the Bengals last night and looked good in flashes. The return of McCown next week only adds to the confusion. The Browns’ offense looked both sharp and terrible last night, with the controversial Manziel playing well in the first half but struggling greatly in the second half. A 92-yard touchdown drive at the end of the second quarter was a particular highlight for the Cleveland offense, however, they struggled to get going after the break, failing to complete a first down in the third quarter.

Josh McCown has played well so far this year, although he has struggled to lead his team to victory. McCown has thrown for 1,897 yards with 11 touchdowns and 4 interceptions with a completion percentage of 65% and a passer rating of 95.2. That is decent performance throughout the year, and while some are calling for the inexperienced yet potentially explosive Manziel to start, most Browns’ fans will be pleased to see McCown back under center.
