Dez Bryant skied above the Eagles defense for a touchdown to bring the Cowboys level

Matt Cassel had just put the Dallas Cowboys in a hole at the start of the fourth quarter in their Week 9 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles after throwing a pick-six on what was a solid drive. That interception return put Dallas down by a touchdown, but Cassel and Dez Bryant had some magic up their sleeves for the answer.

After a monster kickoff return courtesy of Lucky Whitehead that gave the Cowboys great starting field position, Cassel turned his eyes on a big play. After being flushed out of the pocket and scrambling around in the backfield to buy time, the quarterback let loose a desperation heave into a crowd in the back left corner of the end zone. Incredibly, Bryant jumped above the entire herd of players to come down with the ball for the score:

That certainly doesn’t look like a guy who is just two weeks removed from being sidelined with a major foot injury. He looked like a grown man playing Pop Warner on that catch.

Not only was the catch itself remarkable, but it was also crucial for the Cowboys in the context of the game and their season. Dallas needs this win to stay alive in the NFC East for when Tony Romo returns and Bryant’s touchdown tied the game to give them a chance to end their five-game losing streak.
