Week 9 in the NFL was the week with the fewest games of any week of the regular season, but it definitely didn’t lack for drama and surprises both on the field and in fantasy football.  To catch up on all of the best and worst of the week check out my fantasy football week 9 recap on the following slides highlighting the studs, duds, and sleepers of a busy Sunday.

More from Carolina Panthers

Week 9 featured three overtime contests in New Orleans, Minnesota, and Dallas along with a thrilling finish in Pittsburgh.  The undefeated Patriots and Panthers joined the Bengals (who won on Thursday) at 8-0 while the Broncos failed to get their win dropping to 7-1 after losing to the Colts in Indianapolis.  The Colts weren’t the biggest surprise in the winner’s circle this week, though, that honor goes to the 49ers who won a game that no one gave them a shot to win as they knocked off the Falcons behind Blaine Gabbert.  To wrap up a busy Sunday of football, the Cowboys hosted the Eagles in an important NFC East clash, and the Eagles got a big win in overtime as Jordan Matthews caught a 41-yard game-winner.

With all that going on, it would be easy to miss something as a fantasy owner that could impact the weeks to come.  As I’ve done each week of the season, I’ve put together a fantasy recap of the week so far breaking down some of the biggest studs, some of the biggest duds, and the biggest sleepers at each of the main fantasy football positions–quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end.  Before we get to the position-by-position breakdown, here are some quick reminders of the definition of the categories. “Studs” are players who came into the week with high expectations and came through for their fantasy owners.  On the other hand, the “duds” are players who were expected to perform this week but failed to deliver.  Finally at each position, I’ve listed “sleepers” who are some of the players who weren’t expected to make big fantasy contributions but who had solid fantasy football week 9’s and may have some sleeper value for your fantasy team moving forward.

As we head into all our coverage of NFL week 10, make sure to check back tomorrow morning for my top 10 waiver wire pickups.  In order to stay up to date on all of Fansided’s fantasy football coverage, drop a bookmark over on our fantasy football hub and follow us on Twitter @FansidedFantasy where you’ll find coverage of fantasy golf, fantasy basketball, fantasy baseball, and fantasy football.
