After suffering a foot injury last week, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has not yet ruled himself out for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in a fight for a playoff spot in the AFC. It’s incredible to think about when considering just how savagely broken and battered they have been this season. They’re without their star running back, Le’Veon Bell, the rest of the season, and Ben Roethlisberger is hurt once again.

While Landry Jones has seen time at quarterback already this year, with Roethlisberger hurt and Michael Vick down, he may not be taking the field this Sunday, against the Cleveland Browns even though the Steelers are preparing for him to do so.

The reason Jones starting Sunday, is not exactly a lock yet, is because Ben Roethlisberger, who suffered a foot injury last week, has not yet ruled himself out yet. Roethlisberger was initially expected to miss several weeks, but the quarterback believes that he can come back quicker than that, perhaps not even missing any time at all.

Speaking to ‘The Cook and Poni Show’ on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, Roethlisberger mentioned that he is being cautious with his foot, but he hasn’t completely ruled himself out for Sunday, where the Steelers could have a good chance of notching an important win against a struggling Browns team at home.

"“The bye will come at a good time, but I’m not even going to rule myself out this week,” Roethlisberger told us. “I’m going to take it one day at a time.”“I can walk on it. I’m not running around or anything but the smart thing to do, from what doc has told me and the trainers is just to kinda keep ice on it and get the swelling out and just kind of rest it, let it heal.”"

This is certainly par for course with Roethlisberger. The quarterback has been banged up for much of his career, yet has shown the toughness to be able to play through those injuries. This case is no different with him. As a competitor, he wants to play and be out there to give his team the best opportunity of winning.

The Steelers feel that they have the offense to compete with anyone in the league. To do that, they need Roethlisberger out on the field leading them. While Landry Jones may start this week for the Steelers, Roethlisberger is doing everything he can to be back as soon as possible for his team.
