On Thursday Night Football, the Buffalo Bills will travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Jets. It will be a reunion of sorts for Bills head coach Rex Ryan, who spent the previous six years manning the sideline for Gang Green, including two AFC Championship game appearances.

The Jets are hoping to make the playoffs for the first time in five seasons under first-year head coach Todd Bowles. Bowles came over from the Arizona Cardinals, where he served as a hyper-aggressive defensive coordinator under Bruce Arians. Bowles will certainly be bringing pressure on first-year starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor.
For Buffalo, it needs a win badly. After beating the Miami Dolphins last week, the Bills are 4-4 and in the hunt for an AFC wild card spot. Buffalo has not been to the postseason since 1999, the longest current drought in the National Football League. The Bills trail the Jets by one game in the AFC East, and would hold the tiebreaker until the two teams play again in Buffalo should they beat Ryan Fitzpatrick and the boys.
If the postseason started today, the Jets would be in the playoffs as the fifth seed, while Buffalo would be on the outside looking in.
