Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Cleveland Browns will travel to Heinz Field on Sunday afternoon for an AFC North showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Browns will go into this game at less than 100 percent and with Johnny Manziel starting at quarterback and trying to keep the magic alive for tight end Gary Barnidge in the Cleveland offense. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh will have a backup quarterback of their own in Landry Jones starting, but the Steelers will likely rely heavily on their backup running back in DeAngelo Williams to carry the load for the offense and try to stay above .500 for the season coming out of Week 10.

Keys to Victory

For the Steelers in this game, the key is going to be getting DeAngelo Williams going in the running game. Williams is almost surely going to play, despite coming out of last week banged up, against Cleveland. Williams being fed the pigskin often for Pittsburgh in this game will be vital considering how effective the veteran back has been as Le’Veon Bell’s backup so far this season. Moreover, the Browns have ranked dead last in the NFL in terms of rushing yards allowed per game this season, something that Williams will have the opportunity to take advantage of in this game.

Although it’s a disconcerting notion for Browns fans, their best chance to go on the road an pick up a win against the Steelers is going to be Johnny Manziel throwing the football. Not only have the Browns largely struggled running the ball this season, but the Steelers also are far worse at defending the pass than the run. Manziel’s experience in the NFL is still exceedily limited, but he has shown progress and the propensity for big plays. He and Cleveland will need him to step up and show his progression when he takes snaps for the Browns in Week 10.

Prediction

While I’m not thrilled about the prospect of Landry Jones starting at quarterback for the Steelers in Week 10. However, the Browns aren’t particularly set up to cause the Steelers any major problems on paper. I think DeAngelo Williams, despite his injury, has a big day and carries Pittsburgh to a win at home.

Final Score: Cleveland Browns: 17, Pittsburgh Steelers: 30
