Gregg Popovich trolls the 76ers roster, praises Brett Brown

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich compliments his former assistant and current Philadelphia coach Brett Brown, while slamming the 76ers’ roster
San Antonio hosted the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday and sent the visitors home with a 92-83 defeat. The loss dropped Philly to 0-10 on the season, a record that was noticed by the Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich who trolled the talent (or lack thereof) on the 76ers roster.
"“I’d last about a month,” Popovich said when discussing how things would go if he were coaching the winless Sixers. “And he [Philadelphia coach Brett Brown], honest to God, loves coaching that team.”"
It was a knock on the roster that Philly boasts, but also says a lot about how Pop feels about the teams he has coached. The coach is a five-time NBA Champion and obviously believes he has won these titles thanks to the talent on his team.
With guys like Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker being parts of the championship runs, it is hard to argue that the players had a lot to do with winning in San Antonio.
Popovich went on to praise Brown some more, a coach whom he spent 1o seasons alongside.
"“He’s the most positive individual I know,” Popovich said “I honestly don’t know who else could be in Philadelphia doing what he’s doing. I couldn’t.”"
Brown is in his third season with Philly and has a record of 37-137. There is a lot of young talent on the 76ers roster, but they have yet to put it all together. Popovich seems to believe that while the skill is no there, Brown is at least the right guy to coach the team.
