Jason Myers drains 53-yard GW field goal (Video)

Jason Myers nails a 53-yard game winning field goal for the Jacksonville Jaguars to beat the Baltimore Ravens 22-20 on the road.
The Jacksonville Jaguars move to 3-6 on the year after a game-winning field goal off the leg of kicker Jason Myers. Jacksonville had 1:09 remaining to get in field goal range, down 20-19 to Baltimore Ravens on the road. The Jaguars were able to get in position for a 53-yard field goal thanks to someone grabbing the face mask of Jacksonville quarterback Blake Bortles.
It had been a grind of a game for both teams, as neither club was able to grab full control of the game. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco turned the football over three times on Sunday, but Blake Bortles and the Jaguars struggled to punch the ball in for six while in the red zone. Even Myers missed a potential go-ahead field goal from 26 yards.
For Jacksonville, this is certainly a momentum win. It’s as if the confidence the team showcased in London a few weeks ago beating the Bills resurfaced to clip the Ravens on the road. Even at 3-6, Jacksonville is in great position to win the AFC South, as they only trail the Indianapolis Colts by a game in the division.
Jacksonville has not made the AFC Playoffs since 2007. With Bortles improving, a surprisingly gifted receiving corps, and a resilient bunch all together, perhaps it is the Jaguars that will challenge the Colts in the AFC South for the 2015 division crown.
For Baltimore, it is now 2-7 on the year and are looking like a team that will pick in the top 10 of the 2016 NFL Draft. Since being re-branded as the Ravens 20 years ago, this is the worst team that Baltimore has fielded since the Colts played there in the early 1980’s.
