Patriots receiver Julian Edleman reportedly suffered a broken foot in Week 10 and could miss the rest of 2015

The New England Patriots escaped their Week 10 matchup against the New York Giants with a victory thanks to a late game-winning field goal. However, you have to wonder if the game would’ve been so close had they not lost wide receiver Julian Edelman to a lower body injury in the first half. They might have to keep finding a way to win without Edelman for the rest of the season, though.

Edelman left the game against the Giants and never returned due to some sort of lower body injury. Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports is now reporting that Edelman suffered a broken foot in the win over the Giants and that his regular season could be over:

Garafolo went on to specify the nature of the broken foot, also saying that there is a possibility that the stud wide receiver for New England would be able to make it back for the postseason:

While the Patriots still have weapons in the receiving game—namely Rob Gronkowski—losing Edelman would be a tremendous blow after they just lost running back Dion Lewis one week ago to a season-ending ACL tear. That’s two major components of their passing offense and two of Tom Brady’s most reliable targets gone over the course of two weeks.

New England moved to 9-0 with the win over New York, but their remaining seven games this season could be tougher as they have to rely more heavily on guys like Danny Amendola to fill in for Edelman. We’ll see if they can remain perfect through this adversity or if the Edelman injury ultimately causes them to stumble.
