Chad Henne’s mustache is no joke (Photo)
Chad Henne’s mustache is epic.
Unfortunately, somebody in the NFL thought it was a good idea to schedule both the Tennessee Titans (2-7) and Jacksonville Jaguars (3-6) for a Thursday Night Football game in primetime.
Both teams have the privilege of owning young, promising potential franchise quarterbacks — who have each actually played fairly well this season — but if you thought both teams weren’t good on normal rest, you can only imagine how it went on a short, three-day rest.
Late in the third quarter with the Titans leading 13-9, Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles left the game with “dehydration” (he would eventually return). There was talk on the sideline of Chad Henne potentially entering the game, and oh my would a glorious thing that would have been, especially with his mustache:
In the spirit of “Movember,” Henne grew out just about the most dashing and epic handlebar mustache of any player in the league. It’s almost criminal Henne was so bad early in his career that he’s a backup now because if the NFL advertised a guaranteed starting appearance for Henne and his mustache, they would have easily have brought in more viewers.
(Let’s be real, you were going to switch to the game at some point tonight anyway).
Instead, Bortles didn’t miss a series, and he came right back into the game during the next series. With a mediocre night completing 19-of-28 for 231 yards no touchdowns and an interceptions, the Jaguars may end up starting Henne and his terrific mustache before the month is over.
