Peyton Manning can claim he had a partially torn plantar fascia all he wants, but the fact remains that he’s done. Brock Osweiler isn’t going to be the long-term solution for the Broncos either, so this is where Kaepernick comes in.

Head coach Gary Kubiak would be unwise to overlook a quarterback who has more to offer at this stage in his career. Kubiak also likes a quarterback who can run a bootleg play, something Kaepernick can provide and then some. Kaepernick would also have an abundance of skill players at his disposal, with names like Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, and his ex-teammate Vernon Davis flooding the roster. With the Broncos and Niners having done business before (the aforementioned Davis), Kaepernick packing for Mile High isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

The Broncos have a playoff-caliber offense, and a Super Bowl-caliber defense. All that’s left is a quarterback who doesn’t throw ducks. Thomas and Sanders will want a new quarterback who can target them often and bring their numbers back to being among the NFL’s elite. Colin Kaepernick can be a natural fit for this offense and continue the Broncos’ winning culture if and when Peyton retires.
