5 potential landing spots for Colin Kaepernick
By David Rouben
Houston Texans
Here are the list of quarterbacks that have played for the Houston Texans since 2013: Case Keenum, Matt Schaub, Tom Savage, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mallett, Brian Hoyer and TJ Yates. To say that the Texans have a quarterback issue is like saying water is wet.
The Texans have one of the best talents at wide receiver in DeAndre Hopkins, and the fact that he’s been able to put up league-leading numbers with the aforementioned quarterbacks is a true testament to his ability. Having Kaepernick throwing him the ball will easily result in breakout years for both players.
Bill O’Brien loves quarterbacks that have a deep threat, and Kaepernick has demonstrated in the past that he can go over the top. In addition, a healthy Arian Foster would mean less running plays for Kaepernick. However, Kaepernick can step in and provide a running threat when Foster inevitably gets hurt.
Brian Hoyer isn’t signed past the end of the season, and is likely going to spend another offseason on practice squads until another team can take him in. Colin Kaepernick could very well turn the Houston Texans’ fortunes around if he goes there next year.
