Let’s light the fires and kick the tires, because this, right here, is one of the games we’ve all been waiting for. In one corner there are the Michigan State Spartans, slightly blemished but still terribly dangerous. In the other corner resides the defending champs, who’ve not looked as impressive as previously expected but are still undefeated.

Michigan State is no stranger to the College GameDay scene. This marks the third time this season Sparty has hit the big show. And if recent history holds true, we’re in for one helluva game today. Sparty’s first GameDay visit was a stellar bout against the Oregon Ducks. That contest was followed up by the slugfest in Ann Arbor with Michigan, which featured one of the most bizarre finishes you’ll ever see in sports. Now it’s a war in Columbus to keep those slim Big Ten Championship Game aspirations alive.

As for Ohio State, well, is this the game we see Urban Meyer unleash the hounds? The Buckeyes have seemed rather languid up to this point in the season. They’re undefeated, but nowhere near the juggernaut that was expected to ravage all of college football. Perhaps they’ve been resting for this moment.
