Ezekiel Elliott threw Urban Meyer and the Ohio State coaches under the bus after loss to Michigan State

The Ohio State Buckeyes are no longer undefeated and, barring some miracle, are no longer going to be a part of the College Football Playoff to defend their national championship after losing to the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday. The loss, which came in many star Buckeyes players’ probable last home game in The Horseshoe, obviously frustrated much of the team. In the post-game press conference, it became clear that running back Ezekiel Elliott was among those players.

Talking about the loss after the fact, Elliott didn’t hold back on why he felt Ohio State went down. Elliott put the blame on Urban Meyer and the Ohio State coaches, saying that they didn’t put them in a position to win:

Elliott wasn’t done there, either. He elaborated a little further by implying that some of the coaching staff got “lost in the game,” ultimately leading to the loss for the Buckeyes:

The frustrated Elliott also said that this was his last home game with Ohio State, saying that there is “no way” that he’ll be playing in The Shoe again.

Frustrations were obviously high after such a big loss for the Buckeyes, but the real question is what the aftermath of Elliott’s comments will be. Ohio State still has some big games left on their schedule and they’ll still almost surely be in a meaningful bowl game. One has to wonder what Elliott’s role will be in those games after what he’s said about Meyer and his coaches.
