Lee Corso took another go-round with Sparty with his College GameDay headgear pick for Michigan State and Ohio State.

Welp, there are a couple of sayings we can attribute to Lee Corso’s headgear pick heading into the Big Ten showdown between Michigan State and Ohio State.

The first quip that comes to mind is: Insanity is making the same mistake over and over again while expecting differing results. Corso has twice this year been forced to make a pick on the Michigan State Spartans. Both times he’s chosen not to go with Sparty. Both times Michigan State pulled out a thrilling victory and effectively pantsed coach’s picks. First it was the Oregon Ducks falling in East Lansing. Then it was the Sparty surrender cobra coming out and taking a bite out of the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor.

The other applicable is: Third time’s the charm. Has coach learned from his mistakes? Or does he live by the YOLO defense and just go devil-may care. I mean … to go with Sparty would be to turn his back on his old friend Brutus the Buckeye. That would be the same Brutus the Buckeye that Coach had selected a staggering 19 times prior to Saturday’s episode. The same Brutus whom he had selected with his first ever headgear pick way back in 1996. If we know anything about Lee Corso it’s that when he falls, he falls hard.

At the end of the day, when all the selections and predictions had been made, there was only one true course of action. Coach decided to roll with THE Ohio State for his College GameDay headgear pick. Brutus was never in doubt.

And the crowd went wild …
