A look at the results from the Middleweight battle on Saturday between Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez

Saturday night from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, we’ll see the next chapter in the battle between Mexico and Puerto Rico take place in the boxing ring. Of course, this means that it’s finally time for Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez to get down to business in the fight for Middleweight supremacy.

Cotto comes into this fight as one of the biggest boxing names of this generation, as well as one of the most successful. He’s 40-4 in his career with 33 knockouts. He’s the holder of the Lineal and RING Middleweight belts, making him the recognized best in the world within his division. He would have also come in with the WBC Middleweight Championship as well, but he was stripped of that title earlier this week, reportedly over refusing to pay the sanctioning fee.

Alvarez presents one of the toughest challenges that Cotto will have ever faced in his illustrious career. This power-punching Mexican star has been on a tear through the boxing scene, earning himself a record of 45-1-1 with 32 knockouts. The 25-year-old sensation has made quite the name for himself within the landscape of boxing. While his name is already huge in the sport at such a young age, a win over Cotto on Saturday night would literally send him into a new stratosphere and potentially make him the heir apparent to Floyd Mayweather as the face of boxing.

These two throwing down in the middle of the ring in Las Vegas has been a long time coming, but the wait is now over. We’re just moments away from Cotto and Canelo doing battle, and you can follow along with the live results of the fight below.
