San Diego is sitting at 2-7 and looking like a team ready for the golf course. The Chargers are in an impossible spot, appearing on the way to Los Angeles. It has been a brutal campaign for everybody except Philip Rivers, who has already eclipsed 3,000 passing yards, leading the league in the category.

This is the first meeting between these two AFC West foes this year. Kansas City swept San Diego last year, keeping the Chargers out of the playoffs with a Week 17 victory behind Chase Daniel. In 2013, San Diego swept the Chiefs, including a Week 17 win of its own to propel the Chargers into the postseason.

With a win, the Chiefs would be at 5-5 and in very good position to win a wild card spot. Kansas City has four of its final six games at Arrowhead Stadium, including the easiest schedule in the league.
