Texans pull off wild trick play for TD (Video)
The Houston Texans are trying to get to .500 and perhaps take over first place in the AFC South on Sunday afternoon against the New York Jets at NRG Stadium. In the third quarter, Houston took the lead on a crazy trick play that had the Houston coaching staff going crazy on the sideline.
This is one of the more interesting plays of the season. Houston decided to get creative and had quarterback T.J. Yates throw the ball to the perimeter. From there, Cecil Shorts III caught the ball and threw it across the field to running back Alfred Blue, who waltzed into the end zone without any issue.
The Texans are sitting at 4-5 and are hoping to make the playoffs for the first time since the Gary Kubiak era. Houston is playing in an absolutely rancid division that includes the Indianapolis Colts, who entered this Sunday tied with Houston atop the division. If Houston wins, it has a very good chance of moving ahead of Indianapolis, which is currently down two scores to Atlanta.
Give Houston credit, the Texans are playing hard despite having a third-string quarterback leading the charge.
