After blowing off some steam following Ohio State’s loss, Ezekiel Elliot posted an apology to Buckeye fans on twitter.

Ezekiel Elliot said he might’ve played his last home game during a post-game interview that saw the Ohio State Buckeyes matchup against the Michigan State Spartans, a team that Elliot thought they would easily win over. After suffering a 14-17 loss, Elliot had some choice words to tell reporters got a couple of Buckeye fans upset.

Since then, Elliot posted up an apology to fans on twitter and took responsibility for his statements as well as put the blame of the loss on himself and the entire team. In the span of half an hour, his tweet has been retweeted more than 2000 times with dozens replying in the comments in support. Have a read on his apology below.

Surrounded by reporters in the locker room, Ezekiel Elliot let reporters know exactly how he felt following their loss. According to ESPN, Elliot was quoted to say

"“Honestly, this is my last game in the Shoe.I mean, there’s no chance of me coming back next year. What happened today, it was kind of like a bad, bad dream. Offense had a rough day, and I’m disappointed. I’m disappointed in the play calling, I’m disappointed in the situations we were put in, and I wish it all played out differently.”"

His response on Saturday even led some analysts and fans to call ask coach Urban Meyer to put him on the bench for saying such comments but his real fans know that his statements are just a simple case of being taken out of context.

The way we see it, Elliot most likely had no malicious intentions and the fact that he talked about how excited he was to play against the Wolverines next weekend and put in a solid week of practice show that he was just caught up in the moment.

The Ohio State Buckeyes face off against the University of Michigan Wolverines this coming Saturday at Michigan Stadium.
