No. 22 UCLA Bruins vs. USC Trojans

The Pac-12 South in 2015 has been just as competitive and strange as anyone can imagine. No one has really taken the reigns to emerge as the lead dog in the division, and as a result, it is coming down to the final week of the regular season, when the No. 22 UCLA Bruins travel across town to take on the USC Trojans.

The winner of this game will become the Pac-12 South Champion and will take on the Stanford Cardinal in the Pac-12 Championship. Despite neither team’s season going as they would have liked this year, this Saturday offers the potential for redemption for both teams.

Keys to Victory

For the UCLA Bruins, the key to victory against rival USC this week is to give Josh Rosen a clean pocket and allow him to make plays. If he can find wide receiver Jordan Payton, the school’s all-time leading pass-catcher, then the Bruins will have a chance on the road to win.

Defensively, they’re going to have to stop the ground game of USC. The Trojans make a living handing the ball off to Justin Davis and Ronald Jones II, and on Saturday, they’ll be looking to do the same thing at home as they look to claim the Pac-12 South.

It will also be the last chance for Cody Kessler to beat the UCLA Bruins in his USC career. In three years at quarterback for the Trojans, Kessler has never beaten the Bruins, and there is no better chance for him, than this Saturday, at home in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Prediction

This is really going to be an emotional game between two teams that despise each other. Somehow someway, one of these teams is going to be walking away on Saturday, Pac-12 South Champions.

This Saturday, Josh Rosen will take another step at quarterback in NCAA Football, when he goes on the road to win the biggest game of his career thus far. USC is going to be in the game, but UCLA is going to be able to outlast the Trojans in a shootout.

USC will stay in it for most of the game, because of their ground game. However, Josh Rosen will make the winning drive on the road trailing late, as he will evade would be tacklers to find his wide receiver Jordan Payton for the leading touchdown.

Final Score: UCLA 38, USC 35
