Five NFL teams who should trade for Johnny Manziel

St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams should give Manziel a chance because they couldn’t do much worse than him. Their quarterbacks have thrown for a league-worst 180.9 passing yards per game this season. Nick Foles and company have combined to throw eight touchdowns and nine interceptions. They should be willing to give any talented quarterback a chance, and Johnny Manziel is definitely a talented quarterback. He couldn’t do much worse than Foles.

The Rams have been searching for a franchise quarterback ever since Kurt Warner left. Manziel would give the Rams the most talented quarterback that they’ve had since Warner. Johnny will have an offense that features Tavon Austin and Todd Gurley. The Rams will need to upgrade their receiver core and their offensive line to have success with Johnny Manziel, but that’s something that the Rams will likely be doing anyway.

The Rams offense has been stagnant and they need something to give it a spark. The Rams hoped that spark would be Austin, but the Rams haven’t had a quarterback able to take advantage of Austin’s unique skill set. Manziel could definitely take advantage of what Austin can do.

The NFC West can be had. The Seahawks and the 49ers are both facing concerns after this season. The Rams could insert themselves into the NFC West playoff picture if they trade for Johnny Manziel and he does well with them. What do they have to lose?
