The Jacksonville Jaguars enter Week 13 with a 4-7 record on the year, very much alive in the AFC Playoff race.

With five weeks left in the 2015 NFL regular season, so many teams can still earn one of 12 NFL Playoff berths. One of those teams surprisingly still in the mix are the 4-7 Jacksonville Jaguars. While the Jaguars’ 31-25 home loss to the putrid 3-8 San Diego Chargers doesn’t help in the slightest, Jacksonville is one of a few teams that are honestly close in becoming a strong football team.

This is actually the best the team has looked since eccentric billionaire owner Shad Khan bought the team a few years ago. Jacksonville isn’t just the team that plays an annual game in London and has two-tone helmets, this team has shown that they can play some football, at times, in 2015.

The AFC South has never been great top to bottom since 2002’s realignment and with only the 2-9 Tennessee Titans certainly out of it, this division long dominated by the Indianapolis Colts is more up for grabs that it has been arguably ever.

While the Jacksonville Jaguars’ chances to make the AFC Playoffs for the first time since 2007 are slim, they aren’t completely delusional. This Jacksonville Jaguars team is perhaps only one offseason away from being the best team in the AFC South for the next five years. Here are five reasons the Jacksonville Jaguars can buck their losing ways in 2015 and make the AFC Playoffs.
