For the duration of the 2015 season not only have the Carolina Panthers been one of the biggest surprise teams, but they are also one of the most balanced. On the wings of a stout defense and the arms legs of Cam Newton they continually get things done. A dearth at playmaker and some help for the running game would be a nice addition to the formula.
Carl Nassib is one of the best stories to come out of the 2015 season. He never started a game in high school and entered the Nittany Lions program as a scrawny walk-on. Then, a funny thing happened on the way to Beaver Stadium: he added more than 50 pounds in the weight room and put some power behind his relentless heart.
Nassib lives in the red and loves getting after the quarterback. Here’s what he has to say about getting a sack: “All I know is that you have less than 2.5 seconds to get there,” he says. “No time to think. It’s all reactionary. It’s such a hard thing to do, but there’s nothing quite like it. Most the time, it’s a blur. All I see is red.”
