Rajon Rondo get ejected for giving ref death stare (Video)
Sacramento Kings guard Rajon Rondo is known to be a little volatile at times, but he someone got ejected on Thursday night while keeping his mouth shut.
Rajon Rondo is known to talk a little smack on the basketball court, whether it be with opposing players or even teammates and coaches. Sometimes that boils over to frustration with the referees as well and on Thursday night, it reached a tipping point with Bill Kennedy.
With just over six minutes to go in the third quarter and Rondo’s Kings getting shellacked by his former team, the Boston Celtics, the point guard took exception to a technical foul call that he received from Kennedy. During the ensuing free throw attempt, Rondo thought it would be a good idea to walk over to the ref and let his stare simply do the talking.
His teammate Darren Collison knew it wasn’t an optimal situation or time and tried to step in, but Bradley had enough and decided to give Rondo the matching set with the technical fouls. And as we all know, a pair of “T’s” in basketball means an early trip to the showers.
The Kings would drop the game handedly, losing to Boston 114-97. Rondo would tally just five points, eight assists, and four turnovers for a plus/minus of -12 on the night before getting the early exit. It wasn’t necessarily how he wanted things to go down against his former squad and likely led to his frustrations pouring out on the court.
