Florida put their first-quarter special teams woes behind them with an 85-yard punt return touchdown against Alabama.

No. 18 Florida was considered a major underdog heading into the SEC Championship, but they have shockingly given No. 2 Alabama a major fight. They took a 7-2 lead in the second quarter on a punt return touchdown by wide receiver Antonio Calloway, who took it 85 yards to the house. Here is a video of Florida showing that they’re not afraid of Alabama.

The Gators had a disastrous performance on special teams in the first quarter as they allowed a punt to be blocked for a safety. Kicker Austin Hardin also had a field goal attempt blocked, but the Gators’ special teams experienced a complete turnaround as Calloway gave his team momentum with his electrifying touchdown return.

Florida does not have as much to play for as Alabama since they already have two losses, but they are looking to play spoiler against a team with College Football Playoff aspirations. The Crimson Tide will be a lock to compete for the national championship if they can overcome this miscue and secure the SEC title. However, the Gators are clearly not going away without a fight.

Their offense will have to wake up though since backup quarterback Treon Harris has been thrust into action since the suspension of Will Grier, who was caught using performance-enhancing drugs. The defense has done a fantastic job so far though, as they forced Alabama running back and Heisman Trophy favorite Derrick Henry to fumble the ball and lose it.
