With Peyton Manning out of the starting lineup due to an injury, no one gave the Denver Broncos even the slightest chance to beat the undefeated New England Patriots last week. However, Brock Osweiler showed that he’s not just Peyton’s shadow, but he’s a legitimate NFL starter.

Luckily for the Broncos, the field conditions won’t be like they were a week ago in a cold, snowy day at Mile High, as they’ll be heading to San Diego to take on the disappointing Chargers. The only way the Broncos can stay hot with Brock at quarterback is if he can develop some chemistry with Demaryius Thomas as the two were just not on the same page last week.

Since its win in the opening week of the season, San Diego has lost eight of 10 games and the Chargers look like a team that’s lost and keeps getting worse by the week. Although Philip Rivers is a great leader and has the right winning mentality to guide this team, his offense has been riddled with injuries to all major positions.

Losing Keenan Allen and a few other wide receivers for extended periods of time, along with Antonio Gates, has definitely hurt this team, but the talent is still there.
