Rams announce starting quarterback for next week

The St. Louis Rams have already had enough of Nick Foles as their starting quarterback.

The St. Louis Rams continue to struggle mightily on offense, and rookie running back Todd Gurley has begun to fall down to Earth. Due to the Rams’ poor quarterback play, opposing defenses have been able to stack the box against Gurley and force the Rams to pass. Due to the Rams’ abysmal offensive performance, head coach Jeff Fisher immediately announced that the Rams will make another quarterback change.

Nick Foles failed in his chance to win back the starting job, as he was held to 146 yards and no touchdowns with an interception. This resulted in a 27-3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Keenum was benched due to a concussion to pave the way for a second chance for Foles However, the Rams experienced a similar result last week with a 31-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals while Foles threw three interceptions.

Since Foles has failed to prove himself as a reliable starter, Keenum will gain another chance to become the permanent starter for the Rams. However, he also has much to prove since he has a 2-10 career record. It seems likely that the Rams will strongly consider drafting a quarterback in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft though. They squandered the opportunity to land Blake Bortles, Derek Carr and Teddy Bridgewater in the 2014 draft. Since the Rams are now 4-8, they will more than likely have another opportunity to draft a franchise quarterback.
