Refs shut down Cam Newton who asks for TD ball (Video)
Cam Newton wanted to give a kid the football. The refs said no.
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton always does the something after he runs for or throws a touchdown. He takes the ball and gives it to a child in the stands, something that has to be considered one of the nicer moments in the National Football League. And let’s be honest, the NFL could use some nice moments to offset the nonsense.
The Panthers are having an incredible season, beginning the campaign at 11-0. Carolina has remained the only team without a defeat in the league, and can clinch the NFC South with a victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Carolina has won the division each of the past two seasons, becoming the only team to ever repeat as champion in the division.
Newton has to be considered one of the favorites for the Most Valuable Player in 2015, along with Tom Brady and Carson Palmer. The former first-round pick out of the University of Auburn has thrown for 2,466 yards and 20 touchdowns coming into Week 13. While the numbers are not eye-popping, Newton has been the catalyst and leader along with the defense for the Panthers in this fantastic start.
