DeSean Jackson fumbles punt, Cowboys’ punter recovers (Video)
DeSean Jackson made a critical error at the end of the game against the Dallas Cowboys, when he fumbled the football.
In a tie game late in the fourth quarter against the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson made a critical error, when he fumbled a punt and gave the Dallas Cowboys great field position deep in Washington territory.
After the Redskins had held the Cowboys offense, it looked like they would get one last stand on offense with under two minutes left. Instead, Jackson let the ball hang out as he tried to reverse field stupidly and it was knocked loose and the Cowboys recovered the punt on the field with a chance to win.
The craziest part of what happened, was that Cowboys punter Chris Jones recovered the ball he punted.
Just look at Jones dive in there for the punt. If that’s not being a team player on special teams, what is? As for Jackson, it was stupid enough to reverse field and lose yards when he didn’t have the blocks, but to let that football hang out was even more dumb.
The Cowboys would then capitalize on the opportunity and punch the football in the end zone. Jackson meanwhile, has no one to blame but himself for trying to be a hero.
