14. Philadelphia Eagles

Let’s just assume for a second that Chip Kelly will still be the head coach in Philadelphia next year. Actually, scratch that, because it doesn’t matter who is on the sidelines because the Eagles need a quarterback more than any team this side of San Francisco.

Assuming that Kelly does stay, Paxton Lynch is the guy he chooses. Crazy? Yup. But so is trading straight up for Mr. Glass Sam Bradford.

Every year in the NFL Draft there’s a guy who comes out of nowhere, shoots up the board and becomes a household name even though the greater public saw very vew of their games. Tom Savage, Jimmy Garoppolo, et al. Lynch takes the mantle this year.

He is right out of the Chip Kelly mold, and you can hear the coach’s salivary glands starting to swell. Lynch is the player who Kelly wanted Tim Tebow to be. He’s 6’7, runs with power and can whip the ball around. This past season he accounted for 30 total touchdowns and nearly 4,000 total yards.

What Kelly wants is an accurate quarterback who is smart enough to pick up the intricacies of his complexly simple offensive schemes. Lynch looked damn good during his junior year at Memphis, and that’s enough to get him into the first round and up to the City of Brotherly Love.
