6. Dallas Cowboys

Dallas may be decent on the defensive side of the ball, but daggum it when the best player on the draft board – and many teams’ No. 1 overall player – falls to you, well, you gobble him up. Besides, the Cowboys can hardly sack a lunch, and need a pass-rush presence. Welcome to the Big D, Joey “Big Bear” Bosa!

Bosa is an elite pass-rusher off the end, and will make an immediate impact in the NFL. He’s anchored Ohio State’s top-flight defense for the past three seasons and has made a living humbling offensive tackles in the Big Ten.

In his career, Bosa notched 26 total sacks. The 2015 season was a “down year,” in which he only registered five sacks – “only” two sacks off the team lead (sorry for the Zagat quotes). He led the team during his freshman and sophomore years, with 7.5 and 13.5 sacks respectively.

Perhaps the best feature about Bosa is his unapologetic swagger. He’ll come right after the quarterback, knock the guy out and revel in the big hit. There’s a nastiness that’s reminiscent of the old NFL. Furthermore, his big personality plays perfectly for Dallas.

The Cowboys locking down Bosa with this high draft pick, and then landing an athletic inside linebacker or corner deep in the draft would effectively solidify one half of the team and allow Jason Garrett to focus on mending the offense.
