5. Tyronn Lue

One former Los Angeles Lakers player that could become their head coach if the team decides to move on from Byron Scott is Tryonn Lue. Lue won two championships with the Lakers and has been earning his spot as a coach in this league, by spending time as an assistant on the staffs of the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Lue has been an assistant league since 2009, and has had enough experience on the bench as a coach that it might be time to for him to become a head coach.

While Scott was also a former Laker, Lue would come in as a fresh young head coach with a lot of potential, whereas the Lakers knew what they were getting when they hired Byron Scott.

Not only is Lue getting experience as an assistant, but he was always was a great teammate and someone that his fellow players looked up to.

With a background as a great teammate, he will be someone that his young players can confide in, as he helps them grow into talented players in this league. The Los Angeles Lakers are going to pick up another young player next season, when they have a top pick in the draft, provided they don’t lose it to Philadelphia.

With a young team, they’re going to need a patient coach. Lue might be the right guy for the job.
