Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers

Tied for fifth place in the surprisingly competitive Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers both look like strong contenders to dethrone the East’s top dog, the Cleveland Cavaliers. There is so little separation between the conference’s No. 1 and No. 10 teams, just 3.0 games, that any loss at this point could move someone up or down quite drastically.

Miami is coming off two straight losses and will look to avoid a third while trying to improve on a mediocre 2-4 record to start the year. Dwyane Wade seems a bit frustrated with his team’s play over the past few games and if the Heat are going to continue to compete for the top spot, they need to pick up their play.

Wade is playing some great basketball right now, though, averaging 18.6 points and 4.5 assists per game while Hassan Whiteside has been a revelation in the post, averaging a double-double.

Paul George could present a big problem for Miami as he’s back and seemingly hasn’t skipped a beat since returning from that gruesome broken leg injury two summers ago. George is averaging a team-high 27.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while also shooting 45 percent from three-point range.

This should be a great game for a Friday night and a must-see event for any fan of Eastern Conference basketball. Could this be an Eastern Conference Finals preview?
