Sports Illustrated’s Don Banks makes his Week 14 predictions for the NFL season.

Another week in the NFL season is upon us and the playoff race is heating up. Some teams are clearly out and some teams are trying to stay in the race.

There are some intriguing match ups this week, but a lot of seemingly safe picks. Sports Illustrated’s Don Banks and ScoreBig have been teaming up all season to make their weekly NFL picks.

Banks has been fairly accurate this season, going 122-70 on the season. Let’s see if he can keep it up in Week 14.

Here are Banks’ picks:

The Carolina Panthers are still looking to pursue perfection and Banks doesn’t see the Falcons, who have cooled off tremendously since their hot start, ending the streak.

The Redskins have been dominant at home but struggled on the road. While the Bears aren’t exactly great at home, Banks has them eeking out the win.

This is an interesting pick from Banks, who is expecting a close barn burner between two AFC North teams. It would be a bit of an upset for the Steelers to get the win, but they’re desperately trying to claw their way into the playoffs.

Do we have to pick this game? Does anyone really care about these two struggling teams outside of Northern California and North Eastern Ohio?

This is an easy pick, the healthy and surging Seahawks over the injury-depleted and struggling Ravens.

This would be a slamdunk pick in most years, but with Matt Hasselbeck slowing down the Jaguars could pounce.

The San Diego Chargers have been struggling while the Kansas City Chiefs have been winning, this is a slam dunk pick for the Chiefs to win.

The Titans are continuing to struggle and the Jets have been surprisingly good, even contending for a playoff spot with Ryan Fitzpatrick. This is a game the Jets are expecting to win and a seemingly safe pick.

This is an intriguing match up between the two teams and the underlying storyline is Chip Kelly vs. LeSean McCoy. Can McCoy rally the Bills to beat his former, and despised, head coach? Banks doesn’t think he will be able to.

The Detroit Lions and St. Louis Rams, not necessarily an intriguing match up but one someone has to win, and Banks is going with the Lions.

How the times have changed in the NFC South, the Buccaneers being picked to win over the New Orleans Saints.

The Packers are surging in the NFC North and just stole a win from Detroit, it should be no surprise that they would beat an injury-depleted Cowboys team.

The Raiders have been formidable this year, but they’re no match for the Broncos defense.

The Houston Texans have been good, but the New England Patriots keep finding ways to win. This is a tough pick.

On Monday Night Football the New York Giants host the Miami Dolphins. Both teams have struggled this year and the Giants are on a losing-streak, but they can right the ship against a horrednous Miami team.
