San Antonio Spurs vs Atlanta Hawks
Another year, another top-notch San Antonio Spurs team. It shouldn’t even surprise NBA fans anymore that the aging Spurs have been one of the most impressive teams in the league, even posting the second-best record at 18-5.
San Antonio is 9-2 in Western Conference play and 9-3 against teams from the East, looking to record its 10th wins against out-of-conference foes. However, all of the Spurs’ losses this season have come on the road and traveling to Atlanta won’t exactly be a cakewalk. Kawhi Leonard is playing the best basketball of his career, averaging 20.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, complementing guys like Tim Duncan and LaMarcus Aldridge.
The Atlanta Hawks haven’t gotten off to the ideal start this season, but they’re 14-0 and somehow just in eighth place in the East. Only a half-game separates the No. 8 team from the No. 2 team in the conference.
Atlanta’s post play with Paul Millsap and Al Horford might be the best in the league as the latter averages 15.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game while the former is averaging 17.8 points and 9.5 rebounds — both are team-highs. A win would give the Hawks a little momentum as they have struggled to put together a solid win streak lately, going 5-5 in the past 10 games.
