2. Winning AFC South is Still Possible

Despite everything that has gone well for the Colts in 2015, there is still a chance to win the AFC South as they are currently tied with the Titans at 6-7. This is mainly due to them not being the only team dealing with injuries at the quarterback position. Their next opponent, the Houston Texans, have struggled to have a consistent starting quarterback under center due to both poor play and injuries.

Brian Hoyer has suffered his second concussion of the season and will have to clear the protocol before he is cleared to play against the Colts. It appears T.J Yates will be the starter against the Colts. With it up in the air who the Colts will start under center, it keeps the Colts’ odds to win good with Yates preparing to start.

After the Texans, the Colts face the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans to end their regular season. Both of those games are winnable for the AFC South team. On the other hand, the Texans end their season with Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars are only one game out of the division’s lead currently, so that will definitely be a game Pagano is keeping his eyes on in week 17.

The AFC South is up for grabs. If the Colts come away with the divisional title, then Pagano will be going nowhere and will have an opportunity to turn things around in 2016.
