Two games really catch the eye this week, when it comes to the National Football League: the Colts-Jaguars and Falcons-Panthers. In those contests the two winning teams, Jacksonville and Carolina, outscored their opponents 89-16. Mind you, these are two teams in the Falcons and Colts whom we thought were legitimate playoff contenders earlier in the season. Hell, the Colts might still be, though take it easy on the “legitimate” part.

And in a week full of wildness, all eyes now focus squarely on Cincinnati and the injury to Andy Dalton. Dalton suffered a fractured thumb on Sunday while diving to make a tackle and will miss an indeterminate amount of time. It’s an unfortunate turn of events for both Dalton – who was playing some of the best ball of his career – and the Bengals, who leading into the week appeared to be the AFC’s best team.

Jumping right into the week 15 NFL power rankings, let’s start with the boys by The Bay. The 49ers aggressively wrestled the mantle of worst team in the league away from the Cleveland Browns with an uninspiring performance on Sunday. Take it away, Niners!
