Round 1: Jalen Ramsey, DB, Florida State

For a team like the Ravens who have a dire need in their secondary (really all over it and not one particular area) and also have one of the top picks in the 2016 NFL Draft coming their way, Florida State Seminoles defensive back Jalen Ramsey is like a godsend for Baltimore and the easy choice as for who they should be targeting with their likely top-five pick in this draft.

Ramsey played cornerback for the Seminoles in college, but many scouts and his coaches say that he has the instincts and physical ability to make a seamless transition to playing safety. As the Ravens have needs in both areas going forward, that’s fantastic as they can assess their situation entering camp and see where they want to go with Ramsey in terms of position if they were to bring him in.

As a prospect, though, there’s just an incredible amount to love about the Florid State man’s talent. He has fantastic size and length at his position that aid him in coverage, but also don’t compromise his quickness and speed that allow him to keep pace with most anyone in coverage and allows him to have an impact off of the edge as a pass rusher in blitzing situations. Ramsey has Ravens written all over him and they’d be foolish to not address their biggest need with a prospect like this.
