Cleveland Cavalier fans continue to wait for the 2015 debut of Kyrie Irving.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will be without their superstar point guard on Thursday when the team faces the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kyrie Irving tweeted out that he will not be on the court, despite previous reports.

There were many reports, including one by ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, that he was planning on playing on Thursday. Irving has been out for the first 23 games of the season after fracturing his knee cap during Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Finals. There is no timetable for Irving’s return, as the return date has been pushed back several times.

This doesn’t bode well for the Cavaliers as they recently lost guard Iman Shumpert. He left Tuesday’s game against the Boston Celtics with a groin injury. He missed all but two games while recovering from a wrist injury.

In the meantime, the Cavaliers are using a combination of Jared Cunningham, Matthew Dellavedova and Joe Harris as the guards.

In 75 games last season, Irving averaged 21.7 point and 5.2 assists per game. He was also 42 percent from the three-point line. That kind of production is something the Cavs would love to have back as they fight for another NBA Finals appearance.

The Cavaliers are 16-7 and sit atop the Central division.
