TE. Alabama. O.J. Howard. 50. player. 44.
Matt Ryan does not look like himself. The Atlanta Falcons quarterback got off to a great start in 2015 but has really regressed over the second half of the season and much of it has to do with his dearth of weapons in the passing game. Outside of Julio Jones, there really is nobody on that offense other teams fear.

Truthfully, it’s been heading that way the past couple seasons ever since All-Pro tight end Tony Gonzalez retired. Ryan was at his absolute best when he had a tight end who could threaten down the middle as a pass target. Atlanta hasn’t been able to even find a modest replacement for what the future Hall of Famer did. The time has come to change that.

O.J. Howard is best known at Alabama for being a big, capable blocker in that classic run-first Crimson Tide offense. However, that job has overshadowed how athletic and natural the kid is as a pass catcher. He has soft hands and the fluid body control to adjust to throws, making acrobatic catches. Lack of production will drop his stock some, but the upside is hard to miss when watching the film.
