Kansas City Chiefs playoff scenarios: Week 15

NFL playoff scenarios for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to reach the playoffs for the second time in three years, but they need to keep winning. On Sunday, the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens to move to 9-5 and sit fifth in the AFC playoff picture, the top wild card team.

For Kansas City, the schedule is very favorable going forward. The Chiefs host the Cleveland Browns in Week 16 before their rematch with the Oakland Raiders, also at Arrowhead Stadium. To clinch a playoff berth next week, the Chiefs need to beat Cleveland and then get a loss from either the New York Jets or Pittsburgh Steelers. New York is hosting the New England Patriots while Pittsburgh is visiting the Ravens.

Kansas City is also in play for the AFC West, but the Denver Broncos would need to finish with a rough patch. Denver needs to lose either two of its last three (with Kansas City winning out) or all of its contests (with the Chiefs splitting). Denver is trying to get to a BYE week with Brock Osweiler at the helm, replacing the injured Peyton Manning. Manning has been dealing with a foot injury since being benched against the Chiefs in Week 10.
