Winner: Philadelphia 76ers

Acquiring Ish Smith from the New Orleans Pelicans might be a small move for the Philadelphia 76ers, but it is the first move of getting the team on the right track, as they try to bring a necessary veteran influence to the roster.

Smith spent part of last season with the 76ers and is already familiar with some of the players on the team. He’s always been a player that has been a great locker room voice, which is something a young team like the 76ers currently need.

Jerry Colangelo’s biggest priority has been to bring a veteran presence to the locker room. Getting Smith back on the team is a great way to do that, and the team might be able to get a few more wins out of the process, even though they want to draft as high as possible.

Getting the 76ers to becoming a winning franchise again is going to be a long process. Jerry Colangelo knew that when he stepped into his executive role with the team, but he also knows what it takes to put a winner on the court.

As the season goes on, Colangelo will probably have his hand in many of the moves that 76ers make, as they try to put key veterans on the team.

It’s a long process, but these are the moves critical to becoming a winning team.
